Prof. Dr. Kızıltoprak Spoke at Khojaly Genocide Programme
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak took part as a speaker in the programme titled Khojaly Genocide, the Atrocity of the 20th Century, hosted by Kütahya Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism with the participation of the provincial protocol and Azerbaijan Istanbul Consul Zaur Allahverdi-Zada.
Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak stated that a genocide that shames humanity was committed in Khojaly and said the following:
As we witness these events, we are ashamed of our humanity every time. 33 years ago, an ethnic genocide was deliberately committed against unarmed people in front of the eyes of the whole world. We participated in rallies to show our reaction, but the heroic Azerbaijani army gave the best reaction 28 years later. We, as a nation, have faced many similar ethnic and religious genocides in East Turkestan, in Azerbaijan, in the lands of Mâverâünnehir, in the lands of Turkestan. The pain of our Azerbaijani brothers is our pain. Their victory is our victory. I sincerely congratulate these heroic compatriots and brothers for giving their answers to the deserving oppressors after 28 years.
