Medal from DPU Students at Balkan Championship
Our student, who is a member of the Turkish National Athletics Team, won a bronze medal for our country at the Under-20 Balkan Athletics Indoor Championships.
Ayça Fidanoğlu, a 1st year student of the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Coaching Education, who is one of the athletes in the Turkish National Team in the Under-20 Balkan Athletics Indoor Championships held in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, won a bronze medal by coming third in the 1,500 metres Women's category. Elif Naz Köseoğlu, a student from the same department, came ninth in the 3,000 metres Women's category. Both of our students qualified for the Under-20 European Athletics Championships to be held in Tampere, Finland on 7-10 August 2025.
The Turkish Athletics National Team, including our students, finished the championship in first place with a total of 13 medals, seven gold, four silver and two bronze. Host Bulgaria came second with 10 medals, 5 of which were gold, and Romania came third with 10 medals, 2 of which were gold.
