NATO-SPS Project Kickoff Meeting

The opening meeting of the project, supported by the NATO-SPS program and focusing on the use of boron in advanced technology products, was held with the participation of the Rector of Kütahya Dumlupınar University, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak.

The attended of the online kick-off meeting were Rector, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak, Richard Brewin and Klavdija Roepke from the NATO-SPS program, the project coordinator Prof. Dr. Hasan Göçmez, project team members Prof. Dr. Mustafa Tuncer, Dr. Hülya Biçer, and Dr. Sait Altun, along with international partners from the National Technical University of Ukraine, Prof. Dr. Iurii Bogomol and Assoc. Prof. Levgen Solodkyi.

In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak emphasized the importance of boron-based advanced technology research for our university, given that more than half of the country's boron reserves are located in Kütahya. Prof. Dr. Kızıltoprak stated that the project would make significant contributions to the development of energy storage technologies while also fostering new international collaborations for both our university and our city.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak highlighted the significance of boron-based advanced technology research for our university, noting that more than half of the country's boron reserves are located in Kütahya. He also stated that the project would play a key role in advancing energy storage technologies and creating new international partnerships that would benefit both our university and the city.

Following the opening speech, NATO-SPS program experts Richard Brewin and Klavdija Roepke made presentations on the technical, administrative, and financial management of the project. Also, Prof. Dr. Hasan Göçmez provided an overview of the project and the team to participants.
