Cooperation with Maghreb Universities

Prof. Dr. Kaan Eraslan, Dumlupinar University’s Vice Rector, and Assist. Dr. Soner Akkoç, the head of Graduate School of Social Sciences, have participated in II. Maghreb Turkish Culture and Economics Forum in Tunisia.

Prof. Dr. Kaan Eraslan, Dumlupinar University’s Vice Rector, and Assist. Dr. Soner Akkoç, the head of Graduate School of Social Sciences, have participated in II. Maghreb Turkish Culture and Economics Forum in Tunisia. They have had a chance to meet representatives of universities in Maghreb countries such as Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, Libya and Mauritania regarding academic cooperation. There have been many academicians and businessmen from Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Palestine, Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan.

Moncef Marzouki, Tunisian President, has mentioned that Turkey has supported Tunisia in the process of the Arab Spring, so they would like to have mutual cooperations and projects with Turkey. Prof. Dr. Kaan Erarslan, Dumlupinar University’s Vice Rector, has made a presentation about Mevlana Exchange Programme, stating that it is possible to provide both student and academic staff mobility among universities; therefore, Dumlupinar University will have made a great contribution to the relationship between Turkey and Maghreb countries.

Tunisian committee has cited that bilateral agreements between Dumlupinar Univesity and Tunisian universities may be signed. It is also added that departments of Turkish are available in the universities of Tunisia, so they need Turkish academic staff to give lectures at universities.  Representatives of universities in Maghreb countries will be invited to Dumlupinar University to strengthen relations among countries in Spring.
